The Art of Tufting: Color, Texture, and Form

March 9 @ 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Join us for the art opening of “Color, Texture, and Form,” featuring the tufted art of Trisha Gilmore and Shelli Markee. This exhibition will showcase a unique collection of wool art, wall hangings, and cushions that blend organic and geometric designs.

A tufting gun demo will be open to any guests who want to watch and try out this medium for themselves!

About Trisha: Trisha works with Wool and a Tufting gun that pushes the yarn into canvas, inspired by the composition of real-life flora and fauna.

Trisha has degrees in Art and Education and has shown her work for over 30 years.  She has taught art at Pratt and Powerful Schools and was an Art Commissioner in Tukwila for 15 years and currently works out of her basement studio in North Tukwila, surrounded by forest.

About Shelli:Shelli’s work is a pure expression of her life.

With a deep background in photography, fashion, garden design, and music, Shelli first explored jewelry and metal smithing at Pratt Institute in Seattle in 2005.  It was there she found herself captivated by this amazing medium that allows her to share and evolve her unique sense of style—and her love affair with metalwork. Now She is expanding her creative endeavors to include tufting and fiber work. I hope  you enjoy Shelli’s first fiber show.

She continues to discover new inspiration and opportunity in every piece that she makes whether it is made of sterling silver, steel, or wool and finds true happiness in every moment in her studio, and gratitude for the simple joy of being able to share her work with you.
