SUMMARY:FXRY @ POP-UP
DESCRIPTION:Mending Night at Prairie Underground \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Dec 9th 5:30 – 7:30pm PDT. This is a free event to provide people with tools and guidance to fix their clothes. Local menders Ravenna Koenig and Sean Callahan will be on hand to help people brainstorm the best way to fix their damaged garments\, teach techniques\, and offer advice and tips. All mending tools will be provided (needles\, thread\, yarn\, fabric scraps\, etc) — though if you want to bring your own stuff\, you can. The event is hosted by Prairie Underground\, Georgetown’s small-batch\, slow fashion design house. These events will take place once a month throughout the year. Unfortunately due to staffing limitations\, we can only accommodate a limited number of participants for each session. This time it will be 14. Perhaps as we develop a core group of menders who can help advise others\, we will be able to accommodate more participants. (If you are a skilled mender and want to volunteer to help out\, let us know!) Reserve your spot early — and if you’re going to cancel\, please do so ahead of time so others have the opportunity to sign up!
